Obama’s plan to save the economy is incredibly touchy. A few of HardTime’s conservative employees keep telling me things like “we can’t afford it,” or “he’s going to tack 9 trillion dollars in debt on!”
In truth, I actually wish the package was larger. I think it’s a good step, but if it fails (which it very well could) it will be because we didn’t spend enough. Considering the fact these economic problems have gone so global, I’m not sure we can count on an organic recovery. Or, as in the case of our last depression, another war.
I’m sure there are some issues with the plan, but I do think it’s far more useful than the DeMint amendment.
The New York Times started a new series reminding us that despite AIG assholes and bleeding heart liberals, the recession does have a common face. Though to be honest, the girl really isn’t struggling too much in this one.
